Brief Introduction: Atomic absorption spectrometer is mainly used to test more than 70 elements in samples, such as lead, arsenic, mercury, cadmium, etc. Depending on the property and limits of the metal element, the instrument has three detection methods – graphite furnace aas, air-acetylene flame aas and hydride generator method.

There is no big difference between the two methods, except that the furnace detection limits lower, about 10-13g / mL (ppb). The sample could be injected directly into the graphite tube, and almost all of the samples involved in the absorption and evaporated. The detection result is high sensitivity and reproducibility, lower detection limit.
Air-acetylene flame method detection limit 10-9g / mL(ppm), Flame atomic simple, fast, stable, is a commonly used method. The temperature of the Air-C2H2 flame can could reach 2500K and can be measured more than 30 kinds of elements.
1. Low detection limit and high sensitivity. The limits of Flame atomic absorption can be achieved ppm level, the graphite furnace atomic absorption could be ppb level.
2. Precision analysis. The relative standard of medium and high element content difference may be less than 1% by the flame atomic absorption spectrometry, its accuracy is close to classical chemical method. Accuracy of analysis by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry is generally 3% to 5%.
3. Fast analysis speed. Graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry can analyze a sample within 10 min, Flame analyze a sample every 1min, Hydride Generator needs 3min.
4. The wide range of applications. Elements can be measured up to 70 kinds, not only the metallic elements, but also the non-metallic elements and organic compounds can be determined by indirect atomic absorption spectrometry.
